Why doesn't my phone connect to WiFi and what should I do? Combining the phone and router into a single network The phone stopped receiving Wi-Fi, what should I do?

Good afternoon everyone!

In many cases, it is much more convenient to connect a smartphone to a Wi-Fi network (than to use 3G/4G Internet). Firstly, it is often unlimited, and secondly, the speed and stability are an order of magnitude higher.

But..., in some cases, the phone stubbornly does not see Wi-Fi, creating discomfort (and in some cases, for example, on the road, at the airport, on vacation, it is completely impossible to access the Internet).

Actually, in this article I wanted to give the most common reasons why a smartphone (on Android) may not find a Wi-Fi network. I think the note will be useful for many users.

Note: I emphasize that this article deals with the issue of Wi-Fi “invisibility”. If you are connected to Wi-Fi, but you do not have the Internet, then this is a slightly different problem (to solve it, use this note:)

What can you do if Android does not see the Wi-Fi network?

Sometimes, due to various errors, it may happen that the router (for example) stops distributing the Internet. Therefore, one of the very first tips in this case is to reboot the router (to do this, simply disconnect its power supply from the network for 20-30 seconds).

2) Which channel is selected (region, if any) in the Wi-Fi settings

Each radio device operates at a certain frequency (and the router is no exception). So, the frequency in the router settings is affected by the channel (region) *, and I’ll immediately note that different countries use a different number of channels: in Russia from 1 to 13, in the USA up to 11, in Japan up to 14.

The point here is that if your device is localized to work in another country, then it may not see some channels. Let's say, if your phone only sees from 1 to 11 channels, and auto mode is selected in the router settings (and it selected channel 13), then your phone simply will not be able to work with such a Wi-Fi network.

Channel and region are set in settings wireless network(Wireless) in the router’s web interface (see a couple of screenshots below).

To help! How to enter the router settings -

How to choose the “best” channel to work with (instructions), how to change it in the router settings -

Important!

Now most classic routers operate at a frequency of 2.4 GHz, but recently new routers with 2 frequencies have appeared on sale: 2.4 GHz and 5 GHz (5 GHz allows you to unload the 2.4 GHz frequency and improve the quality of the Wi-Fi network in homes where too many routers operate at the 2.4 GHz frequency). But the whole point is that not all laptops, tablets, phones support the 5 GHz frequency. Pay attention to this too!

3) Does the phone even see Wi-Fi networks (at least any?)

If the above does not help, pay attention to your phone: does it see any other Wi-Fi networks?

If the phone does not see any Wi-Fi networks at all(although other devices find them) - perhaps it has a hardware problem (the Wi-Fi module could become unusable). I recommend rebooting your phone, removing the case and trying to find Wi-Fi again. If this does not work, contact the service center.

If the phone generally sees Wi-Fi networks, but doesn’t find just one specifically for yours - then pay attention to the channel and region (I already indicated this a little higher), the coverage area (perhaps you are too far from the router and the signal in this place is weak), to some parameters of the router (a little about them below ⇓).

4) Does he distribute Wi-Fi router network (can other devices see it?)

Next, I recommend checking whether the Wi-Fi network (which you want to find on your phone) is visible to other devices, for example, a laptop or tablet. It is possible that the problem is still in the router settings. For example, the router settings could have been reset (this sometimes happens during power surges).

Another important point: the router may have a “white” list (blocking unknown devices is usually done by ). This is done for security purposes so that “unknown” devices cannot connect to the Wi-Fi network. Therefore, pay attention to the “Security”, “Parental Control”, “Bandwidth Control”, “Wireless Network Settings” tabs in the web interface of your router.

In some cases, it is much easier and faster to restore factory presets (they usually do not have any locks or restrictions).

5) About Wi-Fi coverage radius

Pay attention to the location of the router. The fact is that the quality of the signal and the range of Wi-Fi coverage very much depends on where the router is located and where the receiving device is (every “extra” concrete wall or other obstacle greatly reduces the signal). And if the phone is located behind two concrete walls from the router, it is quite possible that it will not find this network.

To help! Ways to strengthen the Wi-Fi signal - improve reception and increase the network radius at home -

6) If you distribute the Wi-Fi network from a laptop

If, then in some cases it is necessary to make some settings in the control center Windows networks (the fact is that security settings in Windows 7+ by default can block the Internet for other devices) .

First you need a tab: Control Panel\Network and Internet\Network and Sharing Center.

Then open several profiles one by one that will be in this tab (private, guest, all networks) and disable password protection, enable network discovery, allow general access to files and folders.

Then recheck the Wi-Fi operation (it is advisable to restart Windows and the phone before doing this).

7) The last resort is resetting the settings (the so-called Hard Reset)

The last thing I can recommend is to reset your phone, try to return it to factory presets (the so-called Hard Reset). Please note that during this operation: all phone book, phone parameters and settings will be reset and will need to be set again!

To reset your Android device, just go to the “Recovery and reset” section and open the “Reset settings” item (see screenshot below).

That's all for now, additions on the topic are welcome...

Wi-Fi has long and firmly entered the lives of users mobile internet. One day a smartphone, tablet or laptop refuses to connect to the router - the owner of these devices will have to figure out why this happened and how to fix it.

The main reasons why the gadget does not see the Wi-Fi network

The smartphone or tablet does not see the Wi-Fi network because:

  • the router lost power;
  • the router itself has failed (physically, or “frozen”);
  • Wi-Fi communication is not enabled (on a new device, or the router was previously used as a wired router);
  • Wi-Fi connection is not enabled on your smartphone or tablet;
  • glitches or viruses in the gadget’s operating system.
  • The router does not broadcast the name of its network.

As you can see, the problem lies both in the router and in the gadget or PC itself. Both devices need to be checked.

Checking and reconfiguring the router

Often, checking the operation of a Wi-Fi network begins not with a PC or gadget, but with a router. The reason is the simultaneous loss of access to the Network on all devices connected to it.

How to restart the router

As an example - TP-Link routers.

Any router can be restarted by unplugging the power adapter for half a minute.

This is convenient - no need to turn off the power adapter

Some routers, such as those from TP-Link, have a power button on the back (not to be confused with a reset button in a tiny hole pressed with a paperclip or toothpick).

Resetting the router settings to factory defaults

Resetting the router allows you to roll back unwanted changes that you made out of ignorance, or (less often) due to viruses that got into the firmware or onto your PC/gadget.

Reset can also be performed using a button hidden from accidental pressing in a special hole.

Schematic placement of the reset button on most routers

Any point is required, for example, a paperclip bent at one end. After resetting the router, try connecting to your wireless network again, the Internet should work.

Optimizing router settings

Selecting settings that do not cause headaches when working on the Internet from any PC or gadget is a task within the capabilities of any user.

Checking your router's security settings

As an example - ZyXEL routers. Security is the first priority when setting up wireless, please do the following.

The router will restart, try connecting to your network.

Changing the Bandwidth

Changing the 2.4 GHz frequency band is an "act of desperation" when other settings have failed. But the user will pay for this by the fact that half of his (and neighboring) devices simply will not be able to connect. As an example, use the ZTE F660 router.

The Wi-Fi network settings (without encryption) in ZTE routers look impressive.

For example, the power of a Wi-Fi transmitter allows you to limit the coverage radius to one or two rooms - converting the percentage of coverage radius into milliwatts delivered per Wi-Fi antenna, we get 3–100 mW. For the percentages specified in the settings, the average coverage area in an apartment building or office building is valid. Specifying 10% will allow you not to create interference for your neighbors on the entrance/floor/street (“not flying” the signal of your router into your neighbor’s territory).

Comprehensive settings in the router can also be achieved in a “gray” way, by “filling” OpenWRT (DD-WRT) firmware as firmware instead of the standard firmware - free software for routers from Chinese manufacturers.

OpenWRT allows, for example, to configure work with “exotic” models of 3G/4G modems that are not available in the standard firmware of D-Link, TP-Link and ZyXEL. You can also fine-tune the bypass of tethering restrictions of Yota and other operators, integrate a torrent client and Tor encryption, and even connect external drive without a PC/gadget - to save downloaded content to it. This is achieved by installing additional scripts in the router’s flash memory that work with the main OpenWRT software - in contrast to the “native” firmware of the router, where such fraud is not provided for (“native” firmware is already assembled).

Checking Wi-Fi operation in Android smartphones and tablets

Despite the fact that tablets and smartphones, unlike PCs and laptops, where the Wi-Fi module is often removable/external, do not require complex diagnostics, the problem may lie in the gadget itself, and not just in the router and/or modems (if An ADSL/ONT modem or a 3G/4G USB modem works in conjunction with the router). This is true for the Apple iPhone/iPad/iPod/Watch, which will be discussed below, and for outdated gadgets based on Symbian, BlackberryOS, PalmOS and their other modern analogues.

Checking connection to a known network in Android

First, give the command “Settings - Wireless Networks” and check if the airplane mode is set - it blocks the operation of all radio transmitters of the gadget (with the exception of the GPS receiver).

Unlocked MTC-916 (ZTE Racer) and its Wi-Fi settings

Go to the Wi-Fi settings and select a network for which you know the key (for example, this is your ZTE MF90+ pocket router or similar). All routers (and gadgets/PCs operating in Wi-Fi dispenser mode) that you connected to are signed as known networks.

If there is no connection, the main reason is the wrong password for the Wi-Fi network, with which the gadget saved this network in the list of known ones. Give the command “Network information” (by clicking on the menu button under the visible part of the sensor) - “Delete”, then connect to the same network again.

Delete the settings for the router, then re-enter them

Another reason could be that the device itself freezes due to a virus or advertising code that overloads the processor and RAM in the gadget. Unlike the iPhone and other Apple gadgets, which are reliably protected from such sabotage, Android devices are reflashed precisely for this reason - if they freeze, any control is lost, including the submenu with Wi-Fi settings.

Restarting your Android device

If your Android smartphone or tablet is so frozen that it can no longer be controlled, and is not even able to restart its built-in Wi-Fi module, you can try to restart it from the power button by giving the “Restart” command. IN latest versions If performance problems are detected, the Android operating system restarts automatically.

Try also calling a frozen smartphone. If the charge level before the freeze was low, wait until the battery is completely discharged, calling the frozen gadget again and again when the call tone passes - it happens that the 3G terminal in the smartphone receives calls and SMS, but the screen remains with a frozen backlight or is turned off. If the call fails (clicks and the response “Subscriber unavailable” after one or more dialing attempts), remove back cover, remove and insert the battery back, turn on the smartphone. If your smartphone does not start, contact a service center or try to reflash the gadget yourself (if you are confident in your actions and have the necessary knowledge).

Reconfiguring an Android gadget

A new reconfiguration begins with resetting user data and OS settings. To avoid losing valuable files from the SD card, it is recommended to remove it. Depending on the gadget model, the microSD card slot is located next to the SIM cards and/or a hidden “Reset” button.

Disk C: (gadget flash memory) will be cleared (Android user folders).

Perhaps, with full Android reset Root access will be removed - gadget “administrator” privileges implemented third party applications type KingRoot. In this case you will lose full access to system processes, services and hidden (including system libraries and drivers) folders and Android files. With a new setup, Root rights will need to be set again.

Now do the following.

  1. Go to the already familiar Wi-Fi submenu and reconnect to any of the networks you know.
  2. As soon as the Internet is available, go to Google Play and reinstall the apps you were previously using.

The operation of the Internet via Wi-Fi is indicated by attempts in the background Android services update pre-installed programs (these updates are enabled by default) and send some information about the gadget to Google.

Solving Wi-Fi problems on iPhone

iOS operating system for iPhone, iPad, iPod and Apple Watch almost completely similar. Everything that is said about the iPhone is also true for other Apple gadgets.

Restarting the Wi-Fi adapter in iOS

Apple operating systems are very reliable and high-performance - the company is meticulous about the speed of its gadgets and stops updating iOS on outdated models mobile devices, as soon as comprehensive checks show that these devices have exhausted their usefulness and will be stuck with the next iOS update. Thus, support for iPhone 4s has been discontinued since August 2016 - the last current version is 9.3.5 (“top ten” can only be installed using hacker methods). Therefore, settings, in particular Wi-Fi, should not freeze.

The connection should work.

Resetting network settings on iPhone

  1. Give the command “Settings - General - Reset”.

    Choose to reset iPhone data and settings

  2. Select Reset Network Settings.

    Select Reset Network Settings

  3. Confirm deleting network data.

    Confirm the action by clicking the network information reset button

Information about operator settings, Wi-Fi networks and information about the iPhone configured for Internet distribution (access point mode) will be erased.

Restart, "break" iPhone

“Break”, or clearing the iPhone’s RAM, is done as follows.

  1. Press and hold the iPhone's Power button until the software shutdown slider appears.
  2. Release "Power" and press and hold the "Home" button (on iPhone models that have one) for a few seconds.

The shutdown screen will change back to the iOS desktop and the buffer (RAM) will be cleared. If you still have running applications, they will re-load the data on which your work has paused.

Restarting (excluding a “hard” reboot - short-term alternate pressing of the volume keys and holding down the “Power” button until the gadget screen goes dark) is turning off the iPhone (the “Turn off” option on the slider) and then turning it on.

Unfortunately, there are no Restart and ReSpring sliders in iOS ( safe mode without background and animations, launched only if you have a jailbreak) - be content with what you have.

Other reasons for lack of Wi-Fi connection

The reasons for the lack of connection to the router are as follows.

  1. Too much large area coverage - the device sees the router/hotspot/Wi-Fi BS, but itself cannot “reach” it. This can only be achieved by using a second router in repeater mode, with a directional antenna (usually homemade) directed towards the original repeater.
  2. The owner changed the password/encryption and made the network closed/restricted. The old settings are now useless.
  3. There is a connection, but the provider’s page appears with information about non-payment of the tariff, exhaustion of high-speed traffic, or the need to view advertising to gain access to the Network for so many minutes, hours or the whole day, or confirmation of low speed (if any).

If all else fails

The problem probably has hardware rather than software causes.

Malfunction of the router, USB modem or Wi-Fi module

Breakdown is different. This determines how repairable the device is.

  1. Failure of microcircuits. One day the router turns off forever - for example, if it was located under a windowsill, and water from a flower pot spilled on it, shorting the outputs of the microcircuits.
  2. Frequent overheating of the router: weak signals from connected devices and cellular networks, critical dustiness (the router is located in a dirty and unmaintained area of the room).
  3. Minor failure - drying out or explosion of one of the electrolytic capacitors on printed circuit board; here it needs to be replaced, because the circuit diagram of the device is broken - it will not start, or will work unstably.
  4. The router worked for many years, but recently it began to “glitch” and freeze - it was increasingly rebooted abnormally, and the flash memory “died”. Chinese equipment, especially cheap ones, ages and wears out faster than top models from well-known companies like Apple or Samsung.
  5. Accidental breakdown of the router by static electricity when opening it, or from overvoltage in the network. It happens when the power grid is supplied not with 220 volts, but with an interphase voltage of 380, but such cases are vanishingly small.
  6. Connecting the “wrong” power adapter to the router: instead of a 9-volt one, the user accidentally connects 19 volts (for example, from a laptop). In the best case, the stabilizer on the router board explodes, and if it is missing, the entire “signet” burns out.

If the router model is expensive, you can try to bring it back to life by taking it either to a computer or “gadget” service center, or to an uncertified repair shop for household appliances and electronics. USB modems and external Wi-Fi modules are much more difficult to repair due to their compactness and “jewelry” assembly.

Mobile device malfunction

Everything that was said above about routers is also true for gadgets and laptops, but there are differences. Thus, Apple technology, despite the “advanced” protection against motley “Kulibins”, with strict adherence to step by step instructions opens with a bang. All that's left to do is to carefully handle the cables and remove the battery from the glue (if necessary, replace it).

Many tablets and smartphones with Android, especially at below-average prices, are even easier to understand. Apart from a few screws and primitive “hook” type locks, nothing holds the front and back parts of the case together, and the “signet” is generally placed on a large drop of glue and can be easily removed; The battery is generally removed in a second, like on Nokia smartphones of the 2000s. These are, for example, Archos tablets, ZTE smartphones and Huawei.

In case of failure of microcircuits (3G/4G/Bluetooth/Wi-Fi/GPS radio modules, CPU, RAM, flash memory, Lightning/microUSB interface) motherboard is considered unusable, because, again, the finest assembly does not allow it to be “raised from the ruins.” Almost always a new gadget is bought - most often the previous iPhone model on sale, or a similar one technical specifications Android model. However, if the speakers, microphone, SIM and microSD sockets fail, the case is cracked, the sensor is broken, this component can be replaced. It is best to carry out all replacements of failed units and components at a service center.

In most cases, if you lose your Wi-Fi connection, you don’t need to run to the service center. Most often, problems are of a software nature, and even flashing the device should not scare you. Everything can be resolved.

A large number of subscribers who use mobile communications quite often ask questions about network problems, one of which is: “Why can’t my phone see WiFi?” Now it is impossible to imagine that any mobile device would remain without access to the Internet using this network. It is also natural that even at home users have a home WiFi network.

Why don't mobile devices see WiFi?

The WiFi network is now considered very convenient, accessible and mobile in almost all corners of the globe. She has many other advantages. For example, you can see quite significant savings on installation, deployment and expansion of the Internet. In addition, WiFi communication fully guarantees the compatibility of a range of equipment of various types and many users mobile communications at the same time in the same coverage area. But, unfortunately, not all mobile device users have a chance to use this type of communication. And, of course, this begs the question: “Why doesn’t the phone see WiFi?”

Solving the Network Visibility Problem

Naturally, first you need to determine the reason why the phone stopped seeing home WiFi, that is, check whether there is a connection at all. To do this, you can perform simple manipulations, for example, see if there is a connection to WiFi from other types of mobile devices. You also need to reboot the adapter.

Possible reasons why the phone does not see WiFi may be as follows: the user's mobile device must have the appropriate equipment - a special chip. Also, a large number of users, surprisingly, do not know how to configure this network on their own.

To solve the problem of why the phone does not see WiFi, first you need to look at the settings of the router itself. Typically, a WiFi router automatically selects a given access point (channel). A large number of mobile phones begin to experience minor problems when this same channel is above 12. You should change the channel itself to a value from 1 to 9, reboot the device and try to connect to the network. Naturally, you shouldn’t forget about the settings of the mobile phone itself.

And if everything is configured correctly, you need to check the operation of the router and mobile device. You can also connect to a free access point somewhere to check. And if the phone sees the network, then most likely the WiFi problem lies in the home router.

Network connection problem for Lenovo phones

Very often, users of phones like Lenovo also experience network connection problems. There is a problem that the Lenovo phone does not see WiFi. The device itself provides the ability to work on channels from 1 to 11. Often the router is configured to a channel higher than 12, it turns out that there is incompatibility between the mobile device and the router. If changing the channel helps for other mobile devices, then Lenovo needs to perform other actions.

First you need to find the build.prop file on your phone and replace the line ro.wifi.channels with ro.wifi.channels=14. This manipulation can be performed directly on the computer in any text editor by transferring the original file via USB. After this, you need to restart both the phone and the router. After all these steps, the mobile device should see the network.

WiFi programs for your phone

In order to use all the capabilities of your mobile phone when connected to the network, you use numerous software. There is now a large selection of WiFi programs for your phone. Such applications are used to turn a mobile device into an access point to a WiFi network. The main thing is to choose good and inexpensive mobile Internet traffic, because, in principle, the mobile device will turn into a gateway between the 3G and Wi-Fi network. And this will allow the device to connect to the World Wide Web. Programs are divided by type of mobile phone platform, the most popular are Android, iOS, Windows Phone.

Android based WiFi programs: WiFi Tether and WiFi HotSpo

Nowadays, all multifunctional telephones used to access the network, social services or communicate on the Internet practically become unnecessary if the phone no longer sees WiFi. While solving this problem, many realized that WiFi Tether for Root Users is considered to be a very easy to use phone program. The only thing that it is not so popular with users is that it requires Root access rights, but this pays off with easily accessible functions and ease of use. By default, this program sets the WiFi point to open mode, connected without a password. Therefore, before using this program, you need to select an encryption protocol and specify the key to connect the network.

Another WiFi program for your phone is WiFi HotSpo. It is also easy to use, but it has much fewer functions than WiFi Tether, but when using this particular program mobile phone no need to “root” in advance. And what is attractive about this application is that it has such a function as USB Tethering. It allows you to use your phone as a wired modem when connected via USB to a computer.

iOS based WiFi programs

Unlike programs for the Android platform, similar utilities for iOS are not so common. But still there is good program WiFi for an iOS phone, and that's MyWi. This application allows you to turn your mobile device into a modem. But for this to become possible, Apple devices must first be unlocked. The app has very good monitoring capabilities. And if suddenly the connection is not established, or it works with interference, MyWi has the ability to select another channel. Its only disadvantage is that it is paid.

Program for Windows Phone

In one of the first versions of phones based on the operating Windows systems Phone it was impossible to use tethering. But in subsequent models of mobile devices, this option was built into the system itself. It can be set to lock depending on what specific phone model is being used. The maximum connection to a network access point with active tethering is no more than five other mobile devices.

The problem of connecting mobile devices to the network and its solution

It is a very common opinion that quite soon the WiFi network may replace one of the available connections - mobile. But this raises one problem. It is still not possible to roam on a global scale. After all, this network currently has a small radius of action. And problems arise in the form that the phone does not connect to WiFi.

Nowadays, this network is already quite widespread everywhere. Developers such as Samsung, Zyxel, and Hitachi were among the first to produce phones with network support. Also, some time later, other manufacturers began to develop such phones.

Today, the communication standard is considered probably the most inexpensive, and many providers provide these services for free. But you don’t always have the opportunity to take advantage of a wireless network, and sometimes the question arises of what to do if your phone doesn’t connect to WiFi.

It happens that a mobile device sees the network itself, but does not want to connect to it. This especially often happens when the phone does not see home WiFi. If in public places where the network is provided, such problems have not arisen before, often the solution lies not in the phone itself, but in the home router and its settings.

When solving such a problem, it is not necessary to turn to professionals; you can fix everything yourself. To do this, you need to go to the device settings and change them. This can be done using any Internet browser. You need to dial the router's IP directly. These are the designations: 192.168.1.0 and 192.168.1.1. Next you need to find the DHCP section and check the Enabled section, in other sections - Default Gateway and Primary DNS - you need to enter the router's IP.

Thus, if all actions are performed correctly, then the issue should be resolved. This method helps protect data exchange, that is, it makes it possible to set a password for a network connection. Only those users who are allowed to connect to it will connect.

Unlike a wired network, a Wi-Fi connection requires additional authentication, since the connection to the network within the range of the signal emitted by the router is public. Here, electronics are responsible for the Internet connection and there can be many reasons why the phone does not see wifi at home: from provider problems to router malfunctions. However, this problem is extremely common, and we will look at the most “popular” reasons that the phone does not connect to home wifi in this article.

Why the phone does not connect to wifi: establishing the correct “diagnosis”

So, if your phone does not receive Wi-Fi from the router, you should check:

  • 1. Is the router frozen?.

Indeed, some of the reasons that the phone does not see Wi-Fi can be safely called mystical. After all, this is what all unexplained phenomena are called? In fact, all routers without exception periodically refuse to perform the tasks assigned to them, and even the manufacturers of this equipment cannot answer why this happens.

So, if your phone stops receiving wifi after fruitful work with a wireless connection, first of all you need to reboot the router. To do this, just turn off the device using the ON/OFF button on the device body (or unplug the power plug from the POWER socket), wait 30 seconds and reconnect the router to the power supply.

Thus, if the phone does not see wifi router due to its freezing, the problem will be resolved.

  • 2. Correct phone authentication in the wireless network

If an authentication error occurs and the phone does not connect to WiFi, you first need to restart your mobile device.

  • 3. Is the number of devices on the home network exceeded?

To find out why your phone doesn't see wifi at home, and see how many devices are allowed to use your wifi.

You may have turned on your laptop, tablet, phones, etc. and your router only supports 16 wireless connections to your home network.

Or, you bet too much, and the student from the next door decided to show his friends that he is a cool hacker. The young hacker found the password and gave it to his friends.

Unauthorized connections can be “banned” through the router’s web interface, after which be sure to change the password for accessing WiFi to a complex and unique one.

After changing the key, do not forget to delete all connections on your mobile communicators and connect to the network with a new password.

  • 4. Is the SSID repeated?

This is rare, but it happens. Some people either set a standard network identifier or simplify the unique name to a simple one, for example “dlink”, “tplink”, etc. If someone nearby also did not strain their imagination, then the next time they connect to their home wifi network an authentication error will occur.

Turn off your router and see if its name is in the list of available WiFi networks on your phone? If a network with the same name already exists, then change the SSID to a unique one, save the settings and reboot the router.

  • 5. Is your router or mobile phone broken?

Regarding the router, you can try resetting the settings to factory defaults using the RESET button

and reconfigure the device via the web interface in accordance with.

After such an “operation” all passwords will be changed to the factory ones, including authentication data

If, after completely reconfiguring the router, the phone still does not connect to the Internet via wifi, you should contact a service center or warranty workshop.

The operation of phones does not always satisfy users. Failures often occur that prevent you from fully using the gadget for its intended purpose. One of these problems is that the phone does not see Wi-Fi. The solution to the problem depends on the cause. In some cases, the situation can be corrected on your own, and sometimes it is best to contact a specialist. Below we will discuss why the gadget does not see the network and how to solve this problem.

Possible reasons

  • check network functionality;
  • turn off and on WI-FI;

  • reboot the gadget;
  • reboot the router;
  • bring the gadget to the receiver and look at the network operation - if, as you get closer, WI-FI reception becomes better, perhaps the cause of the failure is the low power of the router or obstacles in the network path;
  • check the password - if the data is forgotten, change the router password and reconnect.

If after all the steps the problem is not solved, we can talk about why the phone does not see WI-FI. There may be two reasons for this:

  • problems with the mobile device itself;
  • router malfunction.

To solve a problem, it is necessary to establish the exact cause of its occurrence. To do this, it is recommended to connect another phone to the router. If it receives a signal, then the problem is with the gadget.

If the phone and other connected devices do not see the router, we can say with confidence that there is a problem with the router. To solve the problem, it is recommended to contact a service center or purchase a new receiver.

Why your smartphone does not see the network and how to solve the problem, you will learn from the following video:

Solutions

Below we will describe the most common causes of malfunction and ways to deal with them.

Router frozen

If there were no problems detecting a signal for a long time, but suddenly the network disappeared, the reason for this may be a malfunction of the router. No specialist can say for sure why the router freezes. It's just that such a problem suddenly arises from time to time.

To fix the problem, you should reboot the router. To do this, press the power off button on the device, wait 30 seconds and turn on the device. You can also simply remove the plug from the socket for the same period of time and put it back.

WI-FI phone module

If the network is turned on but not detected. This situation occurs due to a malfunction of the gadget’s internal module. This usually happens in custom firmware where the network is not configured. This problem can be resolved as follows:

  • reboot the phone;
  • return to factory settings if a problem occurs after flashing the device.

If this does not help, you should contact a service center.

Incorrect router settings

In the event that the phone does not see WI-FI only at home, you can safely begin to suspect your router. Most often, problems with Internet access on your phone arise due to incorrect device settings.

On the picture - correct settings router:

To troubleshoot the problem, perform the following manipulations:
