  1. By software. Either only Android is used, or a computer/laptop with OS Windows on which special applications are installed.
  2. By installing, as a rule, custom (modified) firmware with built-in root.

The first method is the simplest, but does not always guarantee results. The fact is that manufacturers are struggling with the ability to gain access to the system.

Refusal of root rights

Removing root may be necessary for various reasons. Very often, users are disappointed with the performance of the gadget after rooting. Sometimes warranty repairs are necessary, and then you will also have to give up root rights. The same may be required when selling the device.

There are two ways to remove root:

  • Manual.
  • Program.

Disadvantages of Root

As with everything else, gaining Root access has its drawbacks. First of all, the device loses its warranty and in the event of “something like that”, provided that you cannot roll back your “device” to the official firmware, you will have to repair it solely at your own expense.

Another way to obtain Root rights is to install it on your smartphone modified firmware. In this case, all the work has already been done for you by specialists, and all you have to do is choose the firmware that is suitable specifically for your device. It is worth noting that some phones have protection supplied by the manufacturer - NAND lock. Most often, HTC was guilty of this, so the owners of such devices were out of luck - NAND lock prohibits making any changes to the /system partition (it will not allow anything to be written/deleted to/from the /system partition, even if it is remounted for writing), which is why It is impossible to install the Superuser program in the /system folder.

How to check that root rights have been obtained?

  1. It is possible (but not necessary) for an application called Superuser or SuperSU to appear in the list of programs
  2. When running programs that require root privileges, a corresponding prompt will pop up

Basic ways to get root access

Naturally there is special programs, making this easier. I will roughly divide them into two types:

  • PC programs;
  • programs for an Android device.

Below I will tell you about the main ones and teach you how to use them. But first you will have to learn how to perform the actions that you will need in any of the ways:

  • connect the device in USB debugging mode;
  • Allow installation of applications from unknown sources.

USB debugging mode

The algorithm of actions is quite simple and similar on devices with any version of Android OS.
1. Go to the settings of your device and select the “Accessibility” section, the “For Developers” item.
