The article describes how to find out which region is assigned a particular mobile number code.

Navigation

Among Russian mobile communications, such operators as Beeline, Megafon and MTS stand out clearly (Tele2 is also a popular company). The main number of subscribers belongs to these companies. Other operators operate in certain cities and regions of Russia, with a much smaller number of customers.

Each operator has its own numbers tied to certain regions of the Russian Federation. To find out which region the number belongs to, you need to go to the Internet and enter in one of the search resources (for example, "Yandex") "identify the region by mobile number." Next, we will explain what distinguishing features a mobile phone number has.

In the Russian Federation, mobile operator codes are patented with three-digit numbers that begin with " 9 ". Three-digit number is preceded by an international telephone code Russia - " +7 " (or " 8 "). After the three-digit number comes the seven-digit number of each individual subscriber.

Room type – « +7(8) 9xx xxx xx xx».

Each operator is assigned its own personal three-digit codes (" 91x"- "MTS"; " 92x"- "Megafon"; " 96x"- "Beeline"). In addition, each operator has a different range of numbers for each region - for example, the three-digit code " 905 ” along with seven-digit numbers from “ 2500000 " before " 2899999 ' tells us that such mobile numbers assigned to "Beeline" for the city of St. Petersburg. The same code 905 » with a range from « 1830000 " before " 1849999 "- "Beeline" for the Ulyanovsk region.

Video: Determine the operator by mobile and region

The three main mobile communication companies in the Russian Federation are MTS, Megafon and Beeline. Other mobile operators in Russia are not so popular, and even such giants as TELE2, Rostelecom and Iota fall short of the leaders. The coverage of large mobile communication companies covers the entire territory of the Russian Federation. To identify subscribers, telephone numbers are used, and to determine the provider, prefixes of mobile operators are used. One company, especially if it is large, may own several indices. For example, the list for MTS covers a wide range of numbers.

What is a cell phone number

The ten-digit identifier, consisting of the provider code and a unique set of numbers, is the mobile phone number. In the international format, there is also a country index (for Russia +7). Def codes (operator identifiers) consist of three digits; numbering starts at nine. These are non-geographic telephone indexes, thanks to which it is possible to determine the subscriber's communication service provider, but firms no longer have a monopoly on them. You can switch, for example, from MTS to Megafon while maintaining the same set of numbers.

The transfer service is still available to a small number of people, and it is still possible to find out where the unknown is calling from. For the same reason, the number codes of Russian mobile operators remain in demand. Def are not considered secret information and are in open databases. They encode not only information about the provider, but also about the region in which the number is registered (within the range of regions, and not a specific city or district).

Cellular operator codes

The Federal Communications Agency (Rossvyaz) distributes the codes of mobile operators in Russia. A table with a list of def identifiers is posted on the official website of the institution and is regularly updated. It is available for download to any Internet user. For the convenience of the search, you can drive the code into a special form on the site and quickly find information about the corresponding network provider and region.

Russian cellular communication companies

The leaders of the list are Megafon, MTS and Beeline. In addition to them, there are other companies in the TOP. The most popular mobile operators in Russia:

  • MTS. Belongs to the list of leading providers. Provides voice communication services High Quality, cable TV, internet access. It has its own retail network.
  • Beeline. A brand owned by Vimpelcom, which is part of a concern serving more than 235 million subscribers. The company provides a wide range of tariffs and high-quality coverage.
  • TELE 2. The work of this group of companies is highly appreciated by users. It serves more than 38.9 million subscribers.
  • Iota. Gained popularity as an innovative company providing mobile voice services and 4G high-speed Internet.
  • Rostelecom. Leader in the provision of cable television and broadband Internet access. Feedback on the quality of services provided is positive, but many customers criticize the work of technical support.
  • MTT. Major cellular provider. Serves 2 million subscribers.

A total of 57 identifiers are currently involved. The structure of the def code is as follows: 9, then one of the digits in the range from 0 to 9. This is how 9 two-digit indices are formed, each of them has a third number, also from 0 to 9. A summary table of all occupied digits (distribution of cell phone numbers Russian operators by regions below):

  • 90: 0, 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 8, 9;

1 . You can determine the operator by phone number by, where not only the mobile operator is determined by the phone number, but also the region in which the subscriber number is registered.

2 . With three major Russian mobile operators (MTS, Megafon, Beeline), you will definitely know by the first three digits at the beginning telephone number. Each of the Big Three operators has been allocated more codes than all other Russian operators combined. The following codes have been allocated for the Big Three operators:

  • Beeline: 903, 905, 906, 909, 960-968;

Free of charge Determine by the cell phone number of the mobile operator and the region of the Russian Federation

Probably everyone had such a situation when you need to call some phone, but at first glance it is almost impossible to determine which region this number is assigned to, especially if it is mobile. This means that it is not clear whether this call will be billed as a local or long-distance call.

And here is such a situation. You need to put, replenish the balance of a cell phone, mobile operator numbers, but you don’t know where to turn. In WebMoney or in other services, for example, in, you need to specify the operator cellular communication to top up your phone balance.

Or here's another example. You look at Avito, they sell a good car and inexpensively, and they write "Stavropol" on the phone. When checking, the phone of the city of Kurgan turns out to be. It is immediately clear that you do not call "razvodilovo". Since there is a 100% conversation like this: "Put 1000 rubles on the phone, so that we can be sure and keep the car."

The presented service will help you quickly determine whether a phone number belongs to an operator and a region of Russia.

The design is optimized to work through the browser of a mobile phone. One request for information consumes less than 1 kilobyte (costs less than 1 kopeck), and dozens, and maybe hundreds of rubles, can help save money. Indeed, if on cellular telephone an unknown person called, immediately opened a page in a mobile phone with an input form in order to determine the mobile operator and the region of the Russian Federation by cell phone number.

It is clear that only the police know who owns the number, and the mobile operator also knows. This is confidential information. For disclosure to prison!

The final data at the time of updating the database is the data from TsNIIS. Those. at the time of publication - June 1 this year - the number can be transferred to MTS. Today is the 30th of June and the situation could change. Therefore, for ported numbers, information is provided from the database from Rossvyaz.

Why does a simple user need to know which mobile operator's subscriber called him? Can you find out for yourself? Information about the telecom operator by the phone number of the caller may be needed for many reasons, ranging from saving money for a mobile conversation, since the cost of calls for all voice calls within the same network is significantly reduced, and ending with the function of setting the subscriber's location.

Determining the operator will help restore the truth, because it is likely that the service of paid services does this, and when answering, a decent amount can be debited from the balance.

Sometimes it is important to know how to identify the operator by phone number, because very often subscribers can receive tempting offers for short unfamiliar numbers. In such cases, they often promise a low cost of the service, but in fact, free cheese can only be in a mousetrap.

To be sure that it is not scammers and scammers who are calling you, but the service of your mobile operator, there are pages on the official websites of Beeline, MegaFon and MTS with a list of all short numbers:

  • For Beeline subscribers, information is available.
  • MegaFon customers can get all the information.
  • MTS has created a support page.

Determine belonging to a particular operator

If earlier this or that operator had a set of a specific three-digit code by which it could be confidently identified, then recently, due to the transition of customers to another service provider without changing the usual digital number, it has become more difficult to do this.

To know exactly who is trying to call you, you can use special service from Tele2, or the same function is available from Beeline if you open it.

For reference:

  • Digital codes 910-919, 980, 981, 982, 985, 987, 988 belong to MTS subscribers.
  • For MegaFon, the first three digits of the code will be from 920 to 937.
  • Beeline has the numbers 903, 905, 906, 909, 960-968, 976.
  • TELE2 subscribers have been assigned codes 902 , 904 , 905 , 950-953 , 916 .

But, as we have already mentioned, this is very conditional, for clarification, you should still use online services, since some subscribers use the service via. And already in this case, with an incoming call, you can see on the screen of your device that, for example, a Beeline subscriber with the beginning of the number 909 is calling you, but in fact it may already be a client of Tele2, since he made the transition keeping the old number.

How scammers operate, knowing only your phone number

Each subscriber mobile network has its own individual number, and it is not in the memory of the sim card, as many users naively believe. Only the subscriber ID is stored on the SIM card, it can be sent to your operator's network after registration.

What it is is a set of 15 numbers:

  • The first three are given to determine the code of belonging to a particular country (in Russia it is +7).
  • The next 2 digits will identify the mobile operator.
  • And then comes 10 digits of the SIM card number of a certain subscriber (denoted by hackers as an IMSI number), and it is by it that each of the subscribers is identified, it is also used to conduct a wide variety of financial transactions, for example, in a mobile bank.

The common 15-digit identifier and the personal one we just mentioned are stored in a single local database called HLR (Home Location Register), this is not necessarily the only database, there can be several of them in the world at once.

Now the most interesting thing is that at the expiration of the SIM card, or its failure, the user must change it to a new one, but sometimes in the communication salon assign a new number sim card exactly the same as it was on the old one is not possible. Why? And it has already been entered into the database in the name of another subscriber!

Knowing the data transfer mechanisms and the SIM card number, fraudsters redirect requests from the banking structure to their phone, gain access to your data and operate with your account at their discretion. Why all this talk? And besides, if your SIM card has lost its main characteristics, it is better to get a new one and not restore the old number, because attackers can use this data.
