Hello, dear Muskovites. Not long ago we had a pleasant conversation in a small and cozy review topic. This time I present to you the Motorola DROID RAZR XT912... Achtung!!! Again, a lot of letters, BIG photos, very few spoilers and blatant Motorola advertising. Arranges? Then go ahead!..

Selection, purchase and delivery.
So, let's begin.
"Why Motorola again?" - you ask. The answer is simple... Very simple... But for now I will not answer it...

That is why I want to start this review with where reviews usually end - with a video. Moreover, the video is not just a simple one, but an advertising one :)

To be honest, like most other people, I don’t really like advertising. Consciously waste time on it - never! But something, namely advertising (not counting phones and other gadgets) at Motorola was a success. Don't believe me? See for yourself, it won’t take much time, but I hope there will be few indifferent people left.

MOTOROLA RAZR™ Product Promo

Let's look at the following...
MOTOROLA RAZR™ Product Promo

But everything here is somehow unreal and computer generated. Therefore, finally, my favorite video with a “live” phone in the title role:
Presents Motorola RAZR™

In the last review, in one of the comments, I was pointed out an unforgivable omission - I did not indicate that the phone was used. That’s why I’m writing right away - I bought the phone new, but... it’s an exhibition copy. Those. it was lying somewhere in a store, say, in this one:

on the counter next to other similar devices. Let the counter be like this:

But it is not known for certain where and how exactly it was lying, but the fact remains - the phone is new, has not been in real use, and therefore does not bear any traces of use (even the slightest).

This phone was bought as a birthday gift for my beloved wife. Before that, she used an obsolete product of the Chinese telephone industry - .

By the way, I liked this phone - small, ergonomic. But it had a couple of huge disadvantages: the brake (by modern standards), a weak battery and a simply terrible camera, despite the fact that it is as much as 5 Mgp.

His wife had somewhat more complaints against him, incl. a small screen on which you can’t see anything on the street and, most importantly!!! he wasn't white.

Having combined her dissatisfaction with mine, I began to select a good and high-quality device that would not only satisfy women’s needs, but also please the eye of any man, and especially me :)

By the way, before ordering RAZRa, my wife simply went crazy with the Samsung Galaxy S2 I9100. She liked him in profile, and in front too. But when she saw RAZRa, she realized how wrong she was and how wrong she was.

And so, while looking for a little white phone, I accidentally came across this lot. Which was immediately bought and paid for.

Even though the ad listed the shipping method as USPS Priority Mail International, the package was shipped regular first class. It arrived quite quickly - in 25 calendar days and was received by mail just on my birthday.

As for the packaging, there was none at all. Yes, yes, it wasn’t. There wasn't even the usual yellow/white/gray paper envelope. The box with the phone was wrapped in No, not like that. A piece of A4 sheet was taped to the box with the phone, on which there was only enough space to write the addresses of the recipient and sender. In total, this piece of paper covered about 60% of the area of the box with the phone, the rest of it was simply wrapped with tape. I feel like the seller sent it from a burning tank, in which all the paper was used to write letters to loved ones... It’s a pity that I didn’t take a photo of this miracle package - its appearance would definitely bring a smile to your face.

But be that as it may, the parcel arrived very successfully; no visible or tactile damage was found on it. She looked something like this:

By the way, I’m wondering why they cut out a piece from the top of the package? It seems to me that this is some kind of restriction - so that the phone cannot be sold. But does anyone know exactly the reason for this atrocity?

Design and accessories.
Opening the box, we see the immensely beautiful creation of Motorola engineers. RAZR is very beautiful. The combination of smooth lines and sharp angles, stainless steel and Kevlar fiber makes this phone a truly excellent example of what a quality product should look like. I assure you - not a single photo will convey to you what the phone actually looks and feels like. In this case, it is better to touch once than to see/read 7 times.

And it looks something like this:

Handsome, isn't it?

The box in which the phone is located is made of thick cardboard, pleasant to the touch. There are no inscriptions on it, except for the model name - DROID RAZR.

The interior of the box is divided into 2 parts by a cardboard partition. At the top there is a phone, at the bottom there are accessories:
- numerous instruction books (4 pcs.);
- cable for synchronization with PC (1 pc.);
- network adapter (1 piece, but what kind!);
- microSD 16 GB class 6 (1 pc.).

I would also like to dwell on the network adapter. It looks like a cube at one end of which there are 2 USB outputs. It is thanks to him that my wife and I can now charge our phones at the same time from the same outlet.

Nothing else noteworthy was found in the accessories. Let's move on to the phone itself.

The first thing that catches your eye is the thickness of the phone, or rather the lack thereof - only 7.1 mm (although in the upper part this value is close to 1 cm, but due to the connectors and speaker located there it is impossible to avoid this).

There are no fundamental differences in the layout of controls and connectors/speakers/microphones between the RAZRa and ATRIXa, but let’s quickly refresh our memory.

At the top end There is a 3.5 headphone output, as well as microHDMi jacks (for connecting the phone to a monitor, projector, TV, etc.) and microUSB.

On the left side There are slots for microSIM and microSD cards, which are closed with a neat plug that protects them from various debris and dust.

On the right side There is a power button and a volume rocker. Both buttons rise above the body line by about 1 mm and have a small and clear stroke that ends with a click.

From below still nothing.

Backside is more diverse compared to the previously described model and, in addition to incomprehensible inscriptions, bears the name of the operator offering this phone in the States - Verizon.

At the top there is still a camera lens that shoots HD video, a flash diode, a hole in one of the microphones of the noise reduction system and a mesh that hides the main speaker of the phone.

Front part The phone looks much nicer than the Atrix. A special style is given to it by a steel nameplate with the name of the manufacturer. Without it, the phone would be completely different. Below it on the right we see a 1.3 Megapixel camera lens, an LED on the right, as well as light and proximity sensors.
Returning to the issue of protective films - there is none yet, but it has already been ordered and will be applied immediately upon receipt. The main reason for this is not to protect the protected glass from scratches, but to try to get rid of the numerous unfortunate fingerprints left on the phone screen during its use, one of which you can see in the photo below. The only criterion for choosing films is that they must be matte. :)

Unlike Atrixa, there are touch-sensitive phone control buttons at the bottom. There are 4 of them in total: menu, home, back and search. The buttons have a pleasant backlight, which makes them visible in the dark and automatically turns off during daylight hours.

Above the touch buttons is the operator logo - Verizon. It is applied with high quality and to the right place. It does not spoil the appearance of the phone at all and seems appropriate.

Under the buttons is a microphone hole.

The screen is made using technology, which may cause a negative attitude among some readers. For me, this is not critical, tears do not well up in my eyes, and the picture remains bright and juicy.

Viewing Angles:

Filling and software.

We'll start this section of the review with a short commercial break. Let your eyes rest from the letters, and let your brain assimilate the information received.

Have you rested? Read on.

The phone uses a 2-core Texas Instruments OMAP 4430 processor with a frequency of each core of 1.2 GHz, 1 GB of RAM and 16 GB of internal memory. This is quite enough for a high-quality study of all the tasks assigned to this phone by my wife. More details about the phone:

Next, as usual, I am attaching test screenshots.

Antutu.

Quadrant.

Memory information.

GPS Test.
This test was carried out indoors, at a distance of about 1 m from the window, it was raining outside the window.

As for the camera, it is exactly the same as in the Atrixe I recently reviewed. Below the spoiler are some photos taken with a phone camera. True, due to site limitations, their actual sizes had to be reduced to 77% of the original ones, but you will get a general idea of the quality of the resulting images.

Sample photos

The phone has a battery with a capacity of 1730 mAh, which is enough for daylight hours, taking into account a lot of calls (oh, those talkative girls) and a lot of time in various classmates, vibers, etc. I think that after the build-up the battery will hold up better.

At the time of receipt, the Android OS 2.3.x was installed on the phone. I can’t tell you more about the system version, because... Without a SIM card, the phone did not load beyond the welcome window. A distinctive feature of the XT912 jn XT908-910 is the ability of the phone to work in both CDMA and GSM networks. However, despite the ability provided by the manufacturer, setting up the phone to work in GSM networks on Android 2.3 is very problematic and risks getting bricked; on 4.1.2, the GSM network card is recognized automatically, and the ranges in which the device should operate are determined by checking one box in the settings. Despite the fact that the phone bears the CDMA operator's logo, it works perfectly in GSM networks: the network holds like any other phone, data transmission in 3G and HSDP standards works properly. To my great regret, our operators do not yet support the 4G standard, so I can’t say anything about it.

To avoid negative consequences, and at the same time switch to a radically new version of the software, the software was up to version 4.1.2. The stock firmware is perfectly flashed into the device using the RSD Lite utility.

After updating the software version, a custom recovery was obtained and installed on the phone via . Well, installing recovery gives us practically unlimited possibilities for customizing our device. However, taking into account the fact that the phone will be in female hands, it was decided to install stock firmware with full Russification and cut out unnecessary software.

At this point, the execution of the phone was completed, and it itself was handed over to the caring hands of women.

Comparison with Motorola Atrix HD.

It is somewhat inappropriate to compare these models, but I simply could not help but do it. There is nothing special to write here - it is better to look at the photographs. The only thing I want to note is that with a diagonal of 4.3 inches for RAZRa, versus 4.5 for ATRIXa, the phones have almost identical overall dimensions. First of all, this is due to the same huge frames around the screen and the presence of touch buttons on the RAZRa.

Conclusion.
For a small amount, about 3 times less than what is asked from us I liked the review +62 +98

“Why Motorola?” - everything is very, very simple... the price incredibly corresponds to the quality, and the quality corresponds to good functionality.

The phone was bought in “Refurbished” condition, the seller, during communication, said that the smart phone was new. In general, this is how it turned out) The phone arrived in a beautiful branded box, without signs of use, the seller also sent gifts, a small folding stand and two films for the screen, one of which was already on the phone. Nice. The parcel was sent by regular first class and took a little over a month.

Design and accessories

Opening the box reveals a view of the beautiful creation of Motorola engineers. The smartphone is very beautiful. The combination of fuzzy lines and interesting angles, stainless steel and Kevlar finish on the back of the device makes this phone a wonderful example of what a well-made product should look like. I was amazed at how the phone actually looks and feels in a way that no photo can capture.

The phone came with non-original simple headphones, an original USB cable and, again, a non-original charger. Later, an HDMI-microHDMI cable was purchased separately for this phone to connect the smartphone to a TV and monitors, for watching photo videos and games.
Nothing else noteworthy was found in the accessories. Let's move on to the phone itself.

The phone pleased me with its thickness - only 9.1 mm (although in the upper part this value is close to 1 cm, but due to the connectors and speaker located there it is impossible to avoid this). It fit perfectly in the hand.

The controls turned out to be very similar to my previous device (motorola quench xt5) and it turned out to be pleasant.

On the top At the end there is a 3.5 headphone output, as well as microHDMi jacks (for connecting the phone to a monitor, projector, TV, etc.) and microUSB.

On the left On the side there are slots for microSIM and microSD cards, which are closed with a neat plug that protects them from various debris and dust.

On the right On the side there is a power button and a volume rocker. Both buttons rise above the body line by about 1 mm and have a small and clear stroke that ends with a click.

Backside carries the name of the operator offering this phone in the States - Verizon. In its upper part there is a camera lens that shoots HD video, a flash diode, a hole in one of the microphones of the noise reduction system and a mesh that hides the main speaker of the phone.

Facial Part of the phone is given a special style by a steel nameplate with the name of the manufacturer. Without it, the phone would be completely different. Below it on the right we see a 1.3MP camera lens, light and proximity sensors, and on the left an RGB notification LED.

At the bottom of the front side There are 4 touch buttons for controlling the phone: menu, home, back and search. The buttons have a pleasant backlight, which makes them visible in the dark and automatically turns off during daylight hours. Above the touch buttons is the logo of the American operator - Verizon. It is applied with high quality and to the right place. It does not spoil the appearance of the phone at all and looks quite appropriate. Under the buttons is a microphone hole.

The screen is made using PenTile technology, the picture remains bright and juicy. Viewing angles are excellent.

Filling and software

I won’t describe and show the test results in detail, but I will say that for everyday use the Texas Instruments OMAP 4430 processor and 1 GB of RAM are more than enough for me to work comfortably with the smart phone.
The battery in “city” mode (dialer, Internet, GPS, reading books and a couple of casual games) lasts for two days, in “country” mode (not in flight mode, constant network search and periodic use of navigation and photo-video camera ) a full battery charge lasts painlessly for 7-8 days (maximum battery lasted 15 days in flight mode, using navigation, camera and reading books)
At the time of receiving the phone, it had customized Russified firmware with Android 4.4.2 on board, it was later updated to Android 5.0 (brakes and bugs), after two days of using the new raw firmware, it was decided to roll back to the latest official firmware for this phone with Android 4.1.2 on which the phone still flies to this day (I haven’t noticed a single bug or lag in this firmware, the functionality of the phone is maximum).

Conclusion

Pros:
- the performance of the 2011 line device is more than enough for all today’s tasks
- GPS performance is perfect
- splash protection really works (the device was accidentally wet, then completely dried and worked properly during all these actions)
- fashionable appearance
- durable and powerful battery
- great screen
- the ability to use it as a set-top box by connecting to a TV via a microHDMI connector
- good volume of the device
- noise reduction system when talking
- excellent design and compact size

Minuses:
- the back Kevlar covering quickly peels off when using the phone without a case
- large screen frames
- currently weak camera modules

High performance coupled with a fashionable appearance at a very low price. I'm incredibly pleased.

Hello! Not long ago we had a pleasant conversation in a small and cozy review topic. This time I present to your attention the Motorola DROID RAZR XT912...

Achtung!!! Again, a lot of letters, BIG photos and explicit Motorola advertising.

But it is not known for certain where and how exactly it was lying, but the fact remains that the phone is new, has not been in real use, and therefore does not bear any traces of use (even the slightest).

This phone was bought as a birthday gift for my beloved wife. Before that, she used an obsolete product of the Chinese telephone industry - ZTE Libra.

By the way, I liked this phone - small, ergonomic. But it had a couple of huge disadvantages: the brake (by modern standards), a weak battery and a simply terrible camera, despite the fact that it is as much as 5MP.

But when she saw RAZRa, she realized how mistaken she was and how wrong she was.

It feels like the seller sent it from a burning tank, in which all the paper was used to write letters to loved ones... It’s a pity that I didn’t take a photo of this miracle package - its appearance would definitely bring a smile to your face.

But be that as it may, the parcel arrived very successfully: no visible or tactile damage was found on it. She looked something like this:

By the way, I’m wondering why they cut out a piece from the top of the package? It seems to me that this is some kind of restriction - so that the phone cannot be sold. But does anyone know exactly the reason for this atrocity?

Design and accessories.
After opening the box, our eyes are greeted with a view of the immensely beautiful creation of Motorola engineers. RAZR is very beautiful. The combination of smooth lines and sharp angles, stainless steel and Kevlar fiber makes this phone a truly beautiful example of what a quality product should look like. I assure you that not a single photo will convey to you what the phone actually looks and feels like.

— numerous instruction books (4 pcs.);
— cable for synchronization with PC (1 pc.);
— network adapter (1 piece, but what kind!);
— microSD 16 GB class 6 (1 pc.).

I would also like to dwell on the network adapter. It looks like a cube, at one end of which there are 2 USB outputs.

At the top there is still a camera lens that shoots HD video, a flash diode, a hole for one of the microphones of the noise reduction system and a mesh that hides the main speaker of the phone.

The front of the phone looks much nicer than the Atrix.

Below the buttons is a microphone hole.

The screen is made using PenTile technology, which may cause a negative attitude among some readers. For me, this is not critical, tears do not well up in my eyes, and the picture remains bright and juicy.

Viewing Angles:

Filling and software.

We'll start this section of the review with a short commercial break. Let your eyes rest from the letters, and let your brain assimilate the information received.

Quadrant.

Memory information.

GPS Test.
This test was carried out indoors, at a distance of about 1 m from the window, it was raining outside the window.

As for the camera, it is exactly the same as in the Atrixe I recently reviewed. Below you can see some photos taken with the phone camera. True, due to site limitations, their actual sizes had to be reduced to 77% of the original ones, but you will get a general idea of the quality of the resulting images.

Examples of photos (clickable):

The phone has a battery with a capacity of 1730 mAh, which is enough for daylight hours, taking into account a lot of calls (oh, those talkative girls) and a lot of time in various classmates, vibers, etc. I think that after the build-up the battery will hold up better.

At the time of receipt, the Android OS 2.3.x was installed on the phone. I can’t tell you more about the system version, because... Without a SIM card, the phone did not load beyond the welcome window. A distinctive feature of the XT912 from the XT908-910 is the ability of the phone to work in both CDMA and GSM networks. However, despite the ability laid down by the manufacturer, setting up the phone to work in GSM networks on Android 2.3 is very problematic and is fraught with getting bricked; on 4.1.2, the GSM network card is recognized automatically, and the ranges in which the device should operate are determined by checking one box settings. Despite the fact that the phone bears the CDMA operator's logo, it works perfectly in GSM networks: the network holds like any other phone, data transmission in 3G and HSDP standards works properly. To my great regret, our operators do not yet support the 4G standard, so I can’t say anything about it.

To avoid negative consequences, and at the same time switch to a radically new version of the software, an official software update to version 4.1.2 was downloaded. The stock firmware is perfectly flashed into the device using the RSD Lite utility.

After updating the software version, a custom recovery was installed on the phone via Boot Menu Manager.

There's not much to write here - it's better to look at the photographs. The only thing I want to note is that with a diagonal of 4.3 inches for RAZRa, versus 4.5 for ATRIXa, the phones have almost identical overall dimensions. First of all, this is due to the same huge frames around the screen and the presence of touch buttons on the RAZRa.

Conclusion.
For a small amount, about 3 times less than what they ask us in the Republic of Belarus, we received an excellent phone that harmoniously combines high performance and fashionable appearance. My wife is happy and so am I. It was this phone that made me turn my attention to the Motorola RAZR MAXX HD, a review of which is just around the corner...
For this, let me take my leave and thank you for your attention.

Motorola Droid RAZR MAXX– a modern model from the line of communicators. It is equipped with the latest technology, and will not leave indifferent even the most demanding users in terms of system resources and functionality. Moreover, this model is created with support for the 4G LTE network.

Design solution

Motorola Droid RAZR MAXX is made in the classic candy bar form factor with a 4.3-inch TFT HD touchscreen with a resolution of 540 x 960 pixels with support for 16 million colors with 24-bit quality. You'll be pleasantly surprised by the beautiful screen with icons grouped into groups of programs or applications. Even in bright light, all details are clearly visible. On the front panel there are buttons for quick access to basic functions and a four-way navigation key with confirmation of any operation. By the way, high-quality Xiaomi cases are perfect for this model.

Technical features

The phone is equipped with a powerful dual-core processor with a clock frequency of 1.2 GHz, 1 GB of RAM and 16 GB of built-in dynamically allocated memory. Memory can be expanded through the use of removable memory cards with a maximum capacity of up to 32 GB.

Key Features

The model runs on the Android operating system Gingerbread 2.3 with the possibility of subsequent upgrade to Ice Cream Sandwich 4.0. The camera has an 8 megapixel matrix and allows you to shoot video at a frequency of 30 frames/sec. The camera also provides facial recognition, wide-format shooting and geotagging, which is also called coordinate assignment. The 1.3 megapixel front camera allows you to make video calls. This model supports wireless technologies for data transmission on the network, as well as Wi-Fi 802.11b/g/n communications, Bluetooth v4.0 LE+EDR, USB 2.0 HS, Corporate Sync, DLNA, FOTA, 3.5 mm + EMU, aGPS, sGPS , GLONASS. The smartphone has built-in Google services (Google Maps, Google Search, Google Talk, Gmail), support for social networks: publishing photos and videos on Facebook, Twitter or YouTube. A high-speed USB interface can be used to communicate with a personal computer. Among other things, the device supports installing a huge number of software products and updating the operating system online. But the most important advantage of this model is that it supports third and fourth generation 3G/4G networks.

Bottom line

This is probably one of the most modern models among the phones in the line Motorola RAZR, which is replacing them as the new flagship. And the hardware and support for modern software developments, in general, puts it in the category of the most functionally equipped models of our time. And if you are not stingy to shell out a fairly large sum, you will get a real miracle of modern technology in the field of computer and mobile technologies.
