Titles and ranks in cs go. Ranks in cs go - a complete guide 2 stars in cs go

There are 18 ranks in CS:GO that reflect the player's level. In ranked matches, the game selects approximately equal players in rank.

In November 2017, Valve updated the rank icons and also revised the trust factors in matchmaking. That is, the selection of players is also affected by their behavior in CS:GO and on Steam before that.

How to rank up?

The rank rises for the victory and the collection of a certain number of points of a certain hidden rating. The higher the rank, the more of these points you need to score. For example, if you and your friend both have a Silver 4 rank, but your Hidden Rank is higher, then you will be one step closer to promotion.

To get "hidden rating" points, you need to have good statistics in a rating match - the value of K / D (kills / deaths), the number of stars for the MVP of the round, victory over stronger opponents. The higher the rank or rating of opponents, the more points you will be given. It is also not uncommon for players to be promoted if the match ended in a draw.

There is no set number of wins for promotion. It is possible to win five games in a row and be in last place, have bad stats and no MVP stars. In this case, there is very little chance of promotion. There are times when one win after a series of losses is enough to get promoted. If before that you showed good statistics compared to teammates.

Why downgrade?

Obviously, for the defeat. Each defeat takes away "hidden rating" points. In addition, there are several factors that can lower the rank:

  • Disconnect or abandoned game;
  • If the player was kicked out by voting, and the team eventually lost;
  • For friendly fire, that is, for fire on allies;
  • For playing with a cheater in the team. If you win a game with a cheater and get promoted, but that cheater is later banned, then all games with that player will be cancelled;
  • If the team has given up. In other words, for an ordinary defeat.

Downgrading is pretty easy. Lost - lost the rating and, possibly, lowered the rank.

Calibration

Calibration is the first ten games in the competitive mode, as a result of which the player is awarded the title. All the statistics that we described above count: K/D, MVP, points in the table, victories. The higher the indicators of these values, the higher the rank you will receive.

Ranks in Counter-Strike: Global Offensive are needed for the convenience of selecting opponents of suitable level in competitive mode. The rank system is an ELO system. The system does NOT collect players based on their rank; it considers only the exact number of Elo (which, alas, is impossible to know). If there is a big difference between your rank and that of your teammate, you won't be able to play in the same lobby.

There are 18 titles in CS: GO in total. To get the title, you need to win 10 competitive games. This process is called “calibration”. The highest rank you can get after calibration is Golden Eagle with Wreaths (Legendary Golden Eagle Master). You can play as many competitive games as you want per day: it all depends on you and your nerd... that is, desire.

Ranks that are difficult to climb

On some ranks, you will have to sweat twice, because. twice as many points are required to advance.

The most difficult ranks for an apa are:

Silver Elite Master- Elite Silver. To up the first star, there will be no particular difficulties. You just need to play more.

Gold Nova Master- it is already more difficult to climb from Four Stars to Kalash.

Distinguished Master Guardian- promotion from Big Star to Berkut. At this stage, many give up.

Supreme Master First Class- the most difficult. Upgrade to Global Elite. To do this, you need to be a truly skillful player.

Rank promotion system

A message from the official representative of Valve regarding the rank system:

When matchmaking as we know it arrived in CS:GO at the end of 2012, we switched all non-competitive game modes to a simple ping search. For competitive, we have developed a special ranking system, much more complex than just Elo.

The CS:GO ranking system is based on Glicko-2 and has been improved for CS:GO players. All calculations are carried out on our part and there is a wide set of parameters that determines the skill group. You should read about rating systems that use volatility to better understand why our system cannot be described by numbers.

And now in Russian:

After each game played in the competitive mode (“skating rinks”), the player is awarded a certain number of points. For a victory, points are awarded in plus. For the defeat in the minus. There is no score counter that would be visible to the player: this is purely technical information. Added in June 2015, unfortunately, it gave out an experience counter for getting a drop, without indicating how many victories were left to get the next rank.

So, the points counter increases depending on the wins and points that the player scored during the MM. The number of points depends on frags, combinations, “stars” and the minimum number of deaths.

If the rink was played in a draw, then the player can get points both in plus and in minus.

If a player is in last place on his team with a minimum of frags and a maximum of deaths, then as a result of a draw, he may lose points and even be demoted. If the situation is just the opposite: first place, a large number of kills and “stars”, then the player gets points in plus.

After the rank is increased, the points counter is reset to zero.

And now let's move on to a common question: how many games in CS:GO do you need to win for a new title?

We answer.

To quickly increase your rank in CS: GO you need:

Firstly, always warm up before MM on AIM cards or in DeathMatch modes.

Secondly, you should be sure about the map you are going to play on. To know its subtleties, nychki, raskidki. Have a set of effective tactics to win.

Third, have a reliable team. There are players who are able to boost high ranks by playing solo. But without proven teammates, this task often becomes impossible. Play on community servers, meet real people and go to MatchMacking. Believe me, together - much easier. To increase the rank faster, ask your friends to let you defuse the bomb - extra points are awarded for this.

Fourth, customize the game for yourself. Set the appropriate , resolution and config. Bind the layouts to convenient keys. Everything should be comfortable for you.

Fifth, play in the same lobby with players whose ranks are higher than yours. If you win, then your rank will grow much faster. The more devastating the score (16-1 or even 16-0 in your favor), the more points you get.

And don't try to "hack the game". Steam is a complex system with a high degree of security. It will not be possible to calculate points or deduce a magic formula for victory. But you can always raise your skill and teamplay.

Ranks in CS:GO are more than just beautiful epaulettes or badges of a virtual soldier, in an offline shooter that Global Offensive players complete on hard in a couple of sittings. Titles and ranks are, first of all, proof of professionalism. To find out all the game nuances regarding titles, read the article to the end.

What you need to know about CS:GO titles and ranks?

Rank considered as an in-game indicator of a CS:GO player's skill. Displayed in the upper left corner of the profile. It is located under the scale of experience and levels.

Rank is a subclass of titles. When choosing companions and opponents for a match, the system focuses on your rank. If it is low, your opponents will have the same game experience, if it is high, you will play a game with specialists and pros.

For comparison, rank is similar to MMR in Dota 2. It differs in that there is no scoring. After winning several competitive matches, the rank rises, if you lose, it may fall. Valve does not report how the calculation formula works, but the general scheme is clear - win more often and get a higher rank.

Rank system

The ranking system is divided into the following types:

  1. Low level- the base that most players get after calibration. The rank looks like an army badge with silver stripes. This level includes silver titles: Silver 1-4, Silver elite, Silver master. In this segment, mostly beginners, players with rare online, or pros who upgrade accounts for money (the so-called boosters).
  2. Normal level- next level for everyone who escaped from the "silver hell". Gold rank includes: Gold nova 1-3, Gold nova master, Master guardian 1-2. Basically, in this segment there are experienced players and local old-timers who you need to compete with in order to get a higher rank. Your opponents have several hundred maps completed in the competitive mode. At this level, although there are fewer inadequates, cheaters and boosters, they still come across every 7-10 matches.
  3. High level- an honorary level for all experienced and professional Global Offensive players. This circle is determined by the ranks: Master guardian elite and Distinguished master guardian. At this level, everyone knows all the intricacies of the game, shoots accurately from any weapon, is cunning, perspicacious, unpredictable and extremely dangerous. This level is a living hell.
  4. Very high level- after passing 9 circles of hell you will find yourself here. This is the peak, the elite lives here, which is determined by the titles: Legendary eagle, Legendary eagle master, Supreme master first class, The global elite. There are few cheaters and boosters here. This is the home of professional players and esportsmen who fight for the right to be the best of the best.

How to raise your rank in CS:GO?

If you are just starting to play, then calibration will help determine your skills. In order for the system to determine which starting rank you will go to, you need to win 10 times in competitive mode. Only 2 wins are counted every day, so the title will not be awarded before 5 days. The calibration system determines your performance, team play, and 200+ other factors that ordinary players know little about. Also, those players who have not logged into their profile for a long time are calibrated to confirm their received title (a kind of test). Usually, one winning match is enough to get back on track.

Now, it is more difficult to get titles than it was 2-3 years ago. And as already reported, only the developers themselves know about the rank system. But there is a frivolous theory of how to find out your MMR CS:GO:

  • +25 for victory;
  • -25 for defeat;
  • one rank is +200 points.

But in practice, everything is different. To improve the title, you need to be active in the game, be useful to the team, use teamplay strategies to win, train, experiment. "Improve your skill." Then the titles will more often fall on shoulder straps.

Players who are on the top lines of the standings receive titles with an enviable frequency. But this is already clear - if you are not active or of little use now, then you are just as far from a new rank.

life hacks

To improve your position and not lose your face, follow a few simple canons that will help you reach the desired level:

  1. Don't play alone. Gather a team of your acquaintances and friends. If this is not possible, watch how other players play, add them as friends and start a competitive match together. For several dozen games, you will play, develop your own winning strategies and put them into practice. Remember, no matter how cool you are, you alone are not omnipotent. Counter Strike is a team game.
  2. When the match starts, you don’t need to run around the neighborhood “admire nature” and “shoot a swear word” on the wall. Do useful actions: shoot at opponents, assist teammates, defuse / plant a bomb, rescue hostages - all this is needed to gain as much experience as possible in a game. More points - higher chance of getting a new rank.
  3. Improve your skills. Practice on AIM cards, learn how to shoot accurately, survive in emergency situations, learn tactics, watch tournament matches of professional teams and use some of the experience for yourself.

Today we will look at the rank system in Counter Strike: Global Offensive, how it works, and what ranks exist in cs go. First, let's look at the profile that is in the game itself. There we can see your level badge, the rank that corresponds to this badge, the experience scale and the rank at the next level. The rank will be located below, as well as its icon - it is with the help of it that the matchmaking system will select your opponents in a competitive game.

Ranks in CS:GO:

Ranks in cs go are a kind of system of ELO points. In fact, it can be compared with the MMR system in the game Dota 2, only it does not show the points that you gain or lose per game. Instead, there are intermediate stages of ranks that can be increased by winning in competitive games. The more victories you have in a row, the faster your rank will rise. Accordingly, if you constantly lose, the system can lower you in rank. The lowest rank in the game is Silver 1, the highest is Global Elite.

Rank calibration in Counter Strike Global Offensive:

Calibration of ranks in CS:GO is an integral part of every beginner on the way to competitive games. It consists of 10 intermediate games, after which the system will determine your rank. As far as we know, the highest rank after calibration that can be is Legendary Eagle Master, which is not so far from Global Elite 🙂 .

A very important point is that you will not be able to access the calibration until you get the 3rd level of the profile, which was mentioned above. You can increase it by playing in the standard CS:GO mode or on Deathmatch, only on the official Valve servers. Previously, it was possible to complete the calibration in one day, but now, winning 2 games in a row during this period, or simply playing 3 games, you will receive a temporary block for 21 hours.

Rank statistics in Counter Strike Global Offensive:

Many often wonder how many players raised their rank higher, and who dropped it down. Thanks to the wonderful site csgosquad.com, you can track the statistics of the titles of all players, as well as your detailed statistics in games, kill/death ratios, win percentage, and much more.

Last winter, Valve made changes to their matchmaking system, which significantly lowered many players in rank. Those who were Global Elite dropped down to the Legendary Eagle Master, that is, the struggle for ranks became even tougher. Still, thanks to csgosquad.com, let's see the statistics for December last year, and for now:

December 2015: May 2016:

As you can see, the number of players who had ranks from Legendary Eagle to Global Elite has become significantly smaller. In fact, no one knows for sure how exactly the rank up and down system works, because this information is not on public display, so if you want to quickly increase your rank - win as many as possible by collecting win streaks.
