Once again, I want to start the material with a conversation about the name of the phone. The fact is that when I meet another device with a stylish, easy to pronounce and instantly memorable name, I want to focus on this. The new budget phone from Fly with support for two SIM-cards has just such a name - Fly DS105C. Simple and tasteful, you need to pronounce something like this: “fly di es one hundred and five si.” BUT let's leave the name and move on to the device.

The Fly DS105C phone is an inexpensive model with a color screen, a simple camera, audio player and FM radio, as well as support for two SIM cards. Against the background of other competitors costing up to 1000 rubles, this phone is distinguished by almost all of the listed functions, because there are very few functional handsets in this segment. In the review, I will try to tell you about the main features of the DS105C and also about how well or poorly they are implemented in it, because the presence of certain features in the phone is not enough, the main thing is that they work.

Design, dimensions, body materials

The phone differs from other budget handsets in its flashy appearance. Four different types of plastic are used here at once, they differ in texture and color. The body shape of the device is standard and resembles other ordinary phones.

On the front side in the area of the keyboard there is a dark gray plastic with a "cheerful" coating, looking at the pictures of the device, you might think that it is dust, but it is not.

The screen protector is a transparent plastic layer. The battery cover is made of matte black plastic, along the perimeter of the case there is a rim of glossy red plastic, closer to the upper and lower ends the rim becomes wider. There is also a red bezel around the central navigation button. Probably, it would be correct to say that the Fly DS105C has a youthful design, in my opinion, it is moderately calm, but, as I said, it stands out against the background of other budget handsets, so this is a plus.

The Fly DS105C is slightly larger than most budget handsets in terms of dimensions, mostly the dimensions are typical for this segment - 110 x 45 x 14.6 mm, weight 73 grams. The phone lies perfectly in the hand, it is convenient to hold it during a conversation and when you type “messages” on it.

The device is non-staining, except for the screen surface, which gets dirty all the time, even if it's not too noticeable. Traces and prints on the battery cover are not visible at all, but if you accidentally scratch it, it will already be noticeable.

The build quality is not bad, but there is one feature in the phone that spoils the impression of the assembly.

Battery cover fixing

A detailed story deserves the battery cover in this phone, or rather, the mechanism of its fastening. I even specially allocated a separate chapter for this story, as you noticed. The lid is fastened on ordinary plastic latches, there are nine of them on the back of the lid. The mount is the most common, found in every second phone, if not more often.

The problem is that on the Fly DS105С this mount is somehow incorrect, as a result, in order to remove it, you need to take an object like scissors and pry off the cover with it. It’s hardly possible to gently pry off, but you shouldn’t do it with your nails (you can break it). I removed the cover from the phone three times, during which time I completely opened up the area of \u200b\u200bthe cover for which I hooked it. Otherwise, she simply did not act.

Appearance spoiled by it. If you remove the cover twice a week (change SIM cards or install a more capacious memory card), then in a month the back of the device in the area where you need to pry off the cover will look quite sad. I note that I had a commercial sample bought in a store. So, if you decide on this phone, I sincerely recommend asking the seller on the spot to stick both SIM cards and a memory card into it so that you do not have to do it yourself.

Also, the user manual says: "to open the battery cover, lift the top edge of the battery cover and remove it". In reality, it will not work to lift the lid by the upper edge, because there is simply nothing to pry it on, you can try to pry it by the notch at the place where the strap or lace is attached to your hand, but there will be no use and the lid will not be removed. Apparently, I'm not the only one who sometimes forgets to edit the places copied from previous reviews in the texts (smile).

Control elements, keyboard

A flashlight is located on the upper end of the device, on the top left there is an eyelet for attaching a strap or lace to the hand. There is nothing on the bottom end, and on the right there is a miniUSB connector for charging, headset or connecting the device to a computer.

To turn on the flashlight, use the central navigation key, it is turned on by holding the “down” direction on it. It is also turned off by holding this button.

The flashlight is not bright, but in some situations it can be useful to illuminate the intercom for entering the code, the door lock, and so on.

The phone has a classic block of hardware keys, most of all the Fly DS105C keyboard reminded me of Nokia 1280. The buttons are separate, rectangular in shape, combined in pairs of keys to the right and left of the navigation block of five clicks.

The keys have a good and clear stroke of pressing, with each press the button makes a click, I did not have erroneous presses during the work with the phone. The backlighting of the buttons is bright blue, in my opinion, not the best choice, the eyes get tired of such backlighting, white would be better.

The markup of the symbols is done in “satisfactory”: the numbers are printed in a clearly distinguishable large font, the Latin and Cyrillic alphabets are in a more or less distinguishable font.

Navigation button with default actions for side presses, actions for keys can be changed in the settings. In general, I really liked the keyboard in this device, except for the backlighting that is too contrasty. The keys are of a convenient shape and size, they are easy and pleasant to click. In addition, the DS105C has an interesting find - two call send buttons located one below the other, to the left of the navigation key. So, if you enter a number from the keyboard or open it in the address book, you can start dialing it with one touch both from the first SIM card and from the second one.

Display

The device uses a color TFT screen with a diagonal of 1.8” and a resolution of 128x160 pixels. The physical dimensions of the display are 28x35 mm, the screen displays up to 65 thousand colors. In the screen settings, you can set the brightness (up to 1 to 5), select the screen backlight time and the background image. The phone has only one background image, but you can download others from your computer or install a memory card image.

In the sun, the display fades, and it is almost impossible to read anything from it. Viewing angles of the display are good horizontally, poor vertically. The picture on the screen is grainy-grainy, and the background image and menu icons look as if the device does not display 65 thousand colors, but is capable of displaying a maximum of 4 thousand.

The short summary of the screen is simple - it's bad. Worse than in other state employees with screens of a smaller diagonal and lower resolution that I came across: LG A100, Philips X126 and Samsung E1200.

Battery

The phone has a removable Li-Ion battery with a capacity of 900 mAh. In terms of dimensions, it one-to-one matches the Nokia BL-5C battery, as well as any of its new versions. So, in which case, you can use the battery from your "Nokia 1280", which is tired, in the new device from Fly.

Under the battery are slots for two SIM-cards and microSD memory cards.

From one charge, the phone works on average 3-4 days, depending on the load. I used the device only for calls, I had a charge immediately after purchase and a full charge was enough for 4 days. I think if you listen to music on it, the device will work for two or three days.

Working with two SIM-cards

The device works with two SIM-cards. Implemented support for two SIM cards, traditionally for low-cost models - with one radio module. When you make a call from the first "sim card", the second one becomes unavailable (does not catch the network). If at this time someone calls an unavailable SIM card, he will hear the familiar “subscriber unavailable”. Text messages to the second “SIM” during the conversation on the first one also do not go through, but are delivered only after the end of the conversation.

You cannot assign names to SIM cards, they are displayed on the screen under the names of operators, that is, like MegaFon, Beeline, and so on. During incoming and outgoing calls, the screen shows the SIM card number, SIM1 or SIM2, not a very convenient system.

You cannot select separate ringtones for each SIM card, the sound of text messages is also common. I did not like the functionality of Fly DS105C for working with two SIM-cards. Of the interesting things here, there are only two buttons for sending a call, due to which you can, without unnecessary navigation through the menu, literally with one touch, start dialing exactly from the SIM card with which you want. Otherwise, there are only drawbacks - the inability to assign arbitrary names to SIM cards, the inability to select the main SIM card, the lack of separate sound profiles for SIM cards.

Voice quality

The interlocutor when talking on the phone Fly DS105C can be heard very well, without extraneous noise, but the person's voice is heavily distorted and completely unrecognizable. For example, if a friend from an unknown number calls me on this device, then I'm not sure that I will recognize him by his voice, the phone distorts it so much. I don’t know if it’s a drawback or not, because the voice sounds clear, loud and without interference, but it is noticeable. The interlocutor hears me very well and very loudly, there is some background noise, but it is insignificant.

The volume of the ringing speaker in the phone is very good, it literally “screams, straining”, forgive me for such an expression. Even if you put on a call not the loudest MP3 melodies from a memory card, they will still sound wow, how loud. On incoming SMS, you can set either a standard melody or, just like a call, from a memory card. There is only one drawback - the device cannot select the type of ring that is familiar to all modern phones, when an incoming call comes along with vibration. You can choose to only ring, only vibrate, or vibrate first, then ring.

The vibrating alert is a small and frequent fraction, barely distinguishable, even if the phone is in your hand. I have never been able to feel the vibration of the device when it is in my pocket.

Menu

The telephone menu is made not very familiar and not very convenient - in the form of such large icons, which are displayed on the screen four pieces at a time. There are 8 icons in the menu, that is, two screens with icons. The icons are colored, funny, in principle, easily distinguishable, and it is clear from them which menu means what.

The disadvantage of the phone menu, and indeed the system used here, is in very thin and unsightly fonts. In general, this is a serious problem for such companies as Fly, Explay and so on, those who sell mostly inexpensive handsets based on Chinese platforms. You can easily distinguish a public employee of some serious company, LG, Samsung, Nokia, from a public employee of a manufacturer like Fly by the fonts in the menu and system. In the phones of the first, the fonts are clear, well readable, even if they are small, even and neat, albeit very simple. In phones of the second type, the fonts are crooked, twitchy, jagged, very thin and barely visible in some parts of the menu. On the Fly DS105C, the fonts are generally neat, but very thin, with large indents between words in some places. This font leaves not the most pleasant impression of the device.

The address book is simple - you can store up to 150 numbers in the phone's memory, each is assigned a name and one number. Separate melodies cannot be assigned, there are no contact pictures. Calls are presented with separate screens for missed, incoming, outgoing or all calls.

For many owners of the BQ Strike smartphone, the question of how to remove the back cover of the device has become a real problem. Those who have never manually removed the back panel do not understand how to do it correctly and accurately without damaging the plastic or the display, and try to use various tools at hand, such as scissors, credit cards or knives. But you should not do this - removing the cover on the BQ 5020 Strike phone is as easy as shelling pears with your own hands. Today we will tell you how to do it right. Also watch the tutorial video at the end of the article.

Why you need to open your smartphone

The simplest and most important reason is to install a SIM card in a new, just bought gadget, as well as to install or replace an SD memory card, which is provided in almost every Strike BQs phone. The micro-SD card allows you to expand the internal memory by another 128 GB, which is undoubtedly a plus.

Many smartphone owners reboot a frozen device by pulling out and reinstalling the gadget's battery. Also, the user may need to open the cover to replace an obsolete or non-working battery with a new one. In addition, if you started an independent repair or replacement of parts in the gadget, you won’t get close to the insides of the phone without removing the back panel.

So, let's look at a detailed algorithm of actions with which you can open the BQ phone and see what is inside it.

Action algorithm

First, take a look at your smartphone. On its upper end, to the right of the micro-USB connector, you will see a small notch, as if created so that the cover can be pry off. Gently insert your fingernail into this recess and slide it to the left, walking along the part where the plastic case fits snugly against the glass of the smartphone's display. If you are unable to do this, while moving along the case with your free hand, lightly squeeze it on the sides so that the plastic bends and allows you to perform actions to open the lid. Next, gently run your fingernail along the entire perimeter of the smartphone several times, thereby opening the cover of the device. The plastic panel may crackle slightly when opened, and do not worry - this is normal. Open the lid of the BQs 5020 Strike once, and in the future you will easily do this operation again and again.

How to close the lid back

It's even easier here - you don't even need your nails. Take your smartphone and put it in a plastic case. Carefully make sure that all elements, such as buttons and a camera, line up with the slots on the cover. Lightly press the phone against the case and walk around its entire perimeter in this way. You will hear characteristic clicks. Ready! Now you know how to open the cover of a BQ smartphone without damaging the case and screen. If something is not clear, watch a special training video.

Knowing how to remove the cover from your phone can come in handy especially when you need to change the SIM card, insert a memory card, change the battery in case of damage or purchase of a new one, etc.

The principle of removing the cover on mobile devices ah, pretty much the same.

Remove the cover

Whatever the reason, removing the back cover is a process that every user of a mobile device needs to be able to perform:

  1. To get started, pick up your phone. Now it needs to be turned down "face" to see the back of the device. The whole process will take quite a bit of time, but you need to remove the cover with two hands.
  2. Turn the phone upside down so that the bottom mobile phone(where the microphone is located) turned out to be at the top, and the top one (where the speaker is applied to the ear) turned out to be at the bottom.
  3. Now, with two thumbs of the left and right hands, press on the place of the latch on the cover. Usually it is located under the camera, but if there is no camera, then at the top of the cover, or it will be indicated by relief elements. Then, together with pressure, move the cover away from you.

If the phone is new, then the cover will open with great effort, but over time this process will become easier and easier.

In addition, the covers of some mobile devices are fixed with screws, so all screws must be unscrewed to remove the cover.

Xiaomi phones deserve good reviews. Any original Xiaomi phone is manufactured using reliable components, which guarantees high quality products. But any equipment eventually breaks down and needs repair. Therefore, it may be necessary to disassemble telephone sets. Of course, it is ideal that disassembly and subsequent repairs are carried out by specialists. This guarantees the quality of work and will allow you to have no doubts about the final result. But if you want to save on paying for their services, then you can learn how to remove the back cover on a Xiaomi Redmi phone or another model yourself.

We offer you a short guide on how to open the back cover on Xiaomi Redmi phones (including models 3 and 4), Mi Max, etc. Since almost all phones are of the same design, this guide can be used for most mobile gadgets.

Sequencing

  1. First of all, we take out the SIM card tray. If you leave it in its original position inside the case, it will interfere with the removal of the cover.
  2. The disassembly itself starts with the procedure for opening the latches around the perimeter of the gadget. Opening the back cover is not so easy - you need to make a lot of effort to cope with the task. But this must be done very carefully. The best and safest way to open the device is with a special spatula for working with phones. And certainly in no case should you use sharp objects that can cause scratches when working with the back cover. You need to start opening the latches from one corner of the phone, gradually moving to another.

  1. When the latches give way, slowly and carefully remove the back cover on Xiaomi Redmi or Mi Max. We smoothly open the case, seeing a cable there that connects the back surface to the touchscreen. Carefully remove the ribbon cable to detach the front panel.
  2. Now we have the “stuffing” of the Mi smartphone. Here we see the top panel with the installed chip, there are also cameras. Below them is the battery. Most often, the question of how to remove the back cover of Xiaomi Redmi or Mi Max appears when it is necessary to replace the cameras or the battery. This is also true if the touchscreen is damaged, but without additional complex equipment, you definitely won’t solve this problem at home.
  3. Although the insides of the smartphone are open to us, we cannot yet extract them. In addition to the cameras - we can get them if we open the seal, which is easily hooked by any flat object at hand.

  1. If you dismantled the phone to replace the battery or dig into the chip, you will have to work with a screwdriver. The internal elements are bolted to the cover. We unscrew them with a screwdriver, be sure to fold them in a conspicuous place so as not to lose them, and only after that we can continue the analysis. Unscrewed bolts need to be given special attention - those that are attached from above are longer than those screwed from below. Therefore, put them in different places so as not to get confused.
  2. After unscrewing the bolts, open the protective panel on top, and a chip will appear in front of you. It is not recommended to make any changes to its configuration on your own.
  3. I close the back cover in the same way as I open it, but, of course, the steps are performed in the reverse order. The main thing is to be careful and act carefully, and then everything will work out.

To get a more accurate idea of how to properly open the Mi Max phone and other models from Xiaomi, we suggest that you familiarize yourself with the training videos.
