For children who shamelessly break their devices, such a phone will definitely come in handy. Specifically, I needed a cheap, shock-resistant device for winter hiking first and foremost. After all, the manufacturer stated that the phone is protected from low temperatures and is not afraid of ice and snow. Relevant for the northern regions of Russia. The phone came in a colorful cardboard box with a picture of this device in different colors. By the way, there are only 4 colors: black, green, orange and blue. I ordered orange because... I liked him better. The lid of the box is attached to two magnets, a good solution, although this is probably the first and last time I’ve seen the box)

In addition to the phone itself, in the kit you will find a charger, operating instructions in English (there are parts of the instructions in various languages, including Russian), a warranty card and a set of adapters with a paper clip for SIM cards of various formats.

I was pleased with the set of adapters, even though I have an adapter. It’s nice that the manufacturer has taken care of this issue and people won’t have to run to a cell phone store to get it, because the V3S accepts the good old large SIM cards.

Design and ergonomics

The design is a controversial matter, some will consider this phone brutal and bright, while others will say: wow, what a terrible thing) I’m probably in the middle in these positions: I can’t call the Stone V3S handsome, but it’s not ugly either. Moreover, when choosing, the design did not play a major role for me, and I have not yet seen beautiful shock-resistant dialers) The body of the device is made of plastic, glass and metal.

On the front panel there is a 2.4-inch screen covered with scratch-resistant tempered glass. The manufacturer does not say what kind of “gorilla eye” it is. We'll check this a little later. There is also a physical keyboard on the front panel ( with Russian letters) and a speaker.

On the back panel there is a speaker and a 0.3 MP camera

At the bottom there is a Micro-USB port, a 3.5 mm jack and a microphone

At the top end there is a double flashlight, which in theory should shine fiercely) When its time comes, we will find out what kind of flashlight it is, somewhat reminiscent of a stun gun.

By the way, it’s a good idea to insert a stun gun into your phone for self-defense!

The sidewalls are made of zinc alloy with screws and stiffeners. It looks good and brutal.

There are plastic ribs at the corners of the phone that should absorb shock when dropped.

Overall I like the design. There are no gaps/creaks, the phone fits well in the hand. The keys have a pleasant stroke and are easy to read with your finger. The likelihood of pressing two keys at once is extremely low. The buttons are coated with clear resin for protection.

The backlighting of the keys is sufficient, but there is some unevenness...

The manufacturer did not declare the presence of OTG, but checked just in case. It really doesn't exist)

Display

The display has a diagonal of 2.4 inches, a resolution of 240*320 pixels. The image is naturally not superb, individual pixels are visible.

Viewing angles when rotating the screen left and right are quite good. The picture slightly distorts colors.

But if you look from top to bottom or from bottom to top... things are really bad here. The picture becomes completely overexposed.

Software part

The phone runs its own operating system) And compared to the old Chinese phones from the time of prosperous Nokia... not everything is so bad)
The interface is quite logical and easy to understand. You don’t need to get used to it, and everything is immediately clear what to press and why.

You can choose many languages, including Russian. The translation is good, but incomplete.

In some menu items there is no translation, just English words are written.

You can only put mp3 on a call if you insert a memory card, because there is virtually no built-in free memory, everything went to the operating system. So buying a card is simply inevitable! I inserted a 16 GB micro-SD card, the flight is normal. In general, the phone supports flash drives up to 32 GB.

The device is powered by an SPRD 6531D ​​processor with a clock frequency of 1 GHz. The amount of RAM is 32 MB, the built-in memory is also 32 MB. The system copes with its tasks, there are no interface slowdowns. There are no “please wait” screensavers as was the case at Siemens)

Wireless technologies

Of the wireless technologies, this device only has Bluetooth version 2.0. Other phones find VKworld quickly, there are no problems with pairing. Files are both transferred and received without problems.

Cameras

The camera on the phone is set to 0.3 MP. Of course, it was installed more for the purpose of “making it happen” than actually for photographing objects around) Although there were times when such cameras in phones were considered good... Ehhh, but oh well)

The minimum image resolution is 240*320. Maximum: 960*1280. There are some difficulties with translation into Russian.

Battery

The manufacturer claims a battery capacity of 2200mah.

The battery weighs 31 grams

I had to try pretty hard to discharge the battery to zero in order to quickly measure the capacity via a USB tester. I turned on the flashlight, loaded music onto the card and set it to play constantly, hiding the phone in a box so I wouldn’t get bored)

Charging occurs at a voltage of 5.31V, the current is stable from start to finish, 0.41A.

Full charging time was 2.5 hours. Every hour the battery gained about 420mah. Final result: 1015mah, which does not correspond to the declared capacity...

At first I was upset... but then I decided to check how long this battery would last me? I definitely won’t surf the Internet with such a phone... Purely a dialer, about 15-20 minutes of conversations a day on average. And I can say that one full battery charge lasts me 5-6 days. The capacity does not correspond to 2200mah - this is a fact, but the battery life of the VKWorld Stone V3S suits me quite well.

Sound

The phone has an impressively sized speaker. As the manufacturer calls it - HiFi Box Speaker, with dimensions 20x30 mm

The sound is really very loud and the speaker even tries to produce bass. This ringing volume is suitable for a noisy street and will come in handy if you carry the phone in a bag. You definitely won't miss the call. The Sound Meter app gives 90 dB. Although I don’t really trust the readings of this application.

At maximum volume (15), slight wheezing is heard. I consider the optimal volume level to be 12-13 depending on the composition, and the volume is good and there is no wheezing.

You can’t understand the volume from the video, but next to the iPhone 7 Plus you can still somehow compare it.

But I don’t recommend using this phone as a player, and hardly anyone will. The sound from the headphones is flat and of poor quality...

It can be used as an FM receiver, but again, if you turn on the sound through a speaker and not through headphones. In this case, headphones are simply used as an antenna.

Connection

The phone only supports 2G networks (GSM 850/900/1800/1900 MHz). The connection is good, the interlocutor can be heard without distortion or wheezing. The microphone also works well; at the other end of the line, your voice is perceived normally.
The mode of using two SIM cards at the same time also works without jambs. There is only one radio module installed.

Internal organization

The back cover is very difficult to remove, as if it were one piece with the body. You can't do without a screwdriver)

Under the batteries there are two slots for SIM cards and a slot for a memory card.

By unscrewing all the bolts at the back, it becomes possible to remove the front panel.

There are two cables going to the display. To get deeper and look at the speaker and the board from the inside, you need to tear off the glued material. And it comes off in pieces (And there is a possibility of damaging the cable. So I decided not to risk it, I still plan to use the phone)

Checking the main features of the device

1. Low temperature protection. Not afraid of ice and snow. Protection against dust and splashing water.

Yes, you can throw your phone in the snow and nothing will happen to it. It is worth noting that VKWorld does not claim a specific IP and does not recommend immersing the phone in water. This is understandable, no rubber seals were found under the cover, therefore I would not abuse the water, because water can get under the speaker through the slots in the cover. There will most likely be nothing wrong with the dynamics, because... it is of a special design, but if water reaches the battery contacts... There are doubts about this.

However, in the video they fill this phone with cola and it doesn’t matter to him)

As for protecting the battery from low temperatures and the ability to use the phone down to minus 50 degrees Celsius, the statements are very serious and require verification. In appearance, an ordinary lithium-ion battery is worth it.
As a last resort, no one has canceled such battery protection from low temperatures.

To test, I placed the phone in the freezer at -18 degrees for one hour.

Yes, nothing happened to the phone, it functions as before. The battery lost only 3%. Does this mean protection from low temperatures or do you really need to check it at minus 50 degrees, as the manufacturer claims?))) Decide for yourself.

2. Shockproof, tempered glass.

Well, the body construction is really quite strong. You don't have to worry too much if you drop your phone on the asphalt. Of course, he will receive some “kocks”, but they will definitely not be critical.

You can even crack nuts with your phone.

The glass is really not bad, it is not at least easy to scratch it. I tried to cut an apple on the screen, it turned out without any consequences for the glass. So you can safely carry your phone in the same pocket with your keys)

3. Dual flashlight

Here I can tell you right away... everything is bad. Although the flashlight is double, it shines very weakly. More installed for show. It would be better if they installed a stun gun, as I wrote above)
There is barely enough light to illuminate the keyhole and insert the key there.

conclusions

The phone has its advantages, but there are also a lot of disadvantages. Many of them can be forgiven after seeing the price of the device and based on their own needs, and some may be dissuaded from buying this device. It all depends on what a particular person wants to receive. Just a cheap, shock-resistant dialer with good battery life? Then the device will suit you. Are you planning to swim with this phone and knead it in the mud?) Then it’s worth looking at other models from VKWorld or another brand with IP67-68 protection.

I will highlight the main pros and cons of the device in my opinion:

Pros:

Shockproof housing and tempered glass
- Good assembly (complete absence of play or creaks in the structure)
- Really loud speaker
- Good battery life (5-6 days of use)
- Low price

Minuses:

The discrepancy between the actual battery capacity and the declared one (although I consider the autonomy of 5-6 days to be quite good)
- Weak flashlight
- Bad sound in headphones

Overall, I got what I expected to get from such a phone for that kind of money. VKWorld Stone V3S will perform its functions and delight me with its indestructibility. I hope I helped answer the question of people who were wondering whether to buy this device or not.
