Cabo San Lucas is located at the very, very end of the long California Peninsula. 
When you arrive at the bay early in the morning on a cruise ship, this breathtaking view opens up before you. :) (click on the photos to view larger) 
Cabo San Lucas has a very small port, and cruise ships cannot dock here, so they anchor in the bay, and tourists are transported ashore on boats (tenders, as they are called there). On our cruise ship you could go from the ground floor directly to the tender. 
But, for example, on the Celebrity liner, tourists were lowered into the water directly from the 4th floor... Click on the photo to view it. 
The town itself is very tiny. Although it has its own airport. Cabo San Lucas lives exclusively on tourists, so there are hotels, villas, restaurants, shops everywhere...

There are two shores on the beach, but you can only swim from the sea side, and from the ocean side, getting into the water is not only difficult, it’s extremely dangerous!
